Wedding Wednesday: Finding a wedding dress
Wedding Wednesday: Finding a wedding dress
So I recently found my dream wedding dress. Now that we are 7 months out, I figured I could start blabbing about it. NOTE: I am not showing the actual dress until after the wedding. Sorry!
I will, however, show the dresses I’ve tried which are a BIG NO. They were a no for several reasons. I chose a dress based on comfort. I wanted to be able to move and walk in it. I wanted it to flatter my figure while being not too expensive. I probably tried on close to 50 dress in three different stores.Preview Changes (opens in a new tab)
- Do your research and find out what you love the look of: I would scour Pinterest or a wedding website to find dresses you like the look of.
- Be open to trying on all sorts of dresses: Make sure you are still open to all types of dresses.
- Be aware of bridal sizing: Bridal sizing is super skewed. You can expect your size to be larger than normal. You can also expect to see your size be different depending on the designer.
- Know your budget: Set a budget before you go. If you set yourself a budget you will save yourself heartache. You don’t want to try a dress on that you can’t afford.
- Make an appointment: You need to make an appointment. You don’t want to go to a bridal boutique where they either rush you or can’t fit you in.
- Make sure you can move: This is the most important. Your comfort is the most important. Make sure you can sit in it. That you can easily walk in it.
- Keep season in mind: Make sure you can wear your dress in the season of your wedding.
- Don’t bring too many people: If you bring too many people you may become overwhelmed with opinions.
