My Review:
This movie is a wonderful film. It was spectacular. This movie pulled at the heartstrings. It makes you feel every emotion from happy to sad to angry (Mostly angry at Rez). I was so angry at Rez. Rez knew Jack’s issues and still was the biggest jerk ever. Also, Jackson and Ally were such a cute couple. I know he treated her like crap in a portion of the movie. When I refer to the cuteness of them is how hard he tries to get her out of her shell and to sing in front of a much larger crowd. As well as Jackson constantly telling her she’s gorgeous. Then at the end where he cleans up his act and starts treating her right. I am also so obsessed with the movie soundtrack. Bradley Cooper is a very good singer for being just an actor and having to train for this. Best movie I’ve seen this year. This beats justice league ( which I love ), Infinity War, and so many other movies.
Plot: (This contains Spoilers! Do NOT read if you want to see the film)
Jackson Maine (Played by Bradley Cooper) is a country singer who has a performance in California. Jackson ends up in a drag bar and meets Ally (Played by Lady Gaga) while she is performing at the drag bar. The pair hangs out after Ally’s performance. After she tells him her struggles with gaining momentum in the music industry. Jackson asked her to go to his concert. After Ally’s initial refusal, she goes and performs on stage with Jack
In Arizona, Jack and Ally go to visit Jack’s dad’s old farm only to find is a wind farm. Angered at his betrayal, Jackson punches Bobby, who subsequently quits as his manager. Before doing so, Bobby reveals that he did try to inform Jackson about the sale, but the latter took no notice of it because he was constantly too inebriated.
Ally and Jack began touring together. After multiple shows together, Ally gets signed on by an agent much to Jack’s dismay. During this time, Jack is increasing his drug and alcohol usage. Jack ends up asleep in a bush in his neighbor’s yard missing one of Ally’s performances. Jack makes a makeshift ring for Ally out of a guitar string. She says yes and they get married that day.
Bobby and jack make up at Ally’s SNL. Ally and Jack have a drunken argument when Jack voices his disapproval of Ally’s new music. At the Grammys, a visibly intoxicated Jackson performs in a tribute and Ally wins an award. When she goes up on stage to receive her award, Jackson follows her, where he wets himself and passes out. Ally’s father Lorenzo berates Jackson and Ally helps him sober up. Jackson joins a drug rehab program shortly thereafter.
Jackson recovers in rehab, where he discloses to his counselor that he attempted suicide as a teenager. Jack eventually apologizes to Ally and returns home. Ally wishes to bring Jackson to perform with her on her tour; Rez refuses, prompting Ally to cancel the rest of the tour.
Rez later confronts Jackson, informing him of Ally’s decision to cancel her tour and accusing him of holding Ally back. That evening, Ally lies to Jackson. Jackson promises that he will come to her concert that night, but after Ally leaves, he hangs himself in his garage.
Ally becomes inconsolable after Jackson’s death. She is visited by Bobby, who explains Jackson’s death was his own fault and not hers. Ally takes a song that Jackson had written but never performed and decides to sing it at a tribute concert, where she introduces herself as Ally Maine.
